While Minnesota now allows adult-use (recreational) cannabis, medical cannabis dispensaries continue to serve an important role:
- Higher potency limits: Medical patients can access products with higher THC concentrations
- Tax savings: Exempt from state sales tax
- Expert guidance: Staff trained in medical cannabis applications
- Consistent access: Priority access during product shortages
- Legal protections: Additional legal protections for registered patients
